The Rotaro friction disc clutch is the most common and versatile torque limiter for protecting agricultural cardan shafts. It operates using a disc pack (typically made of ferrous and non-ferrous material) which, clamped by springs, transmits power through friction. When the implement encounters excessive resistance and the torque load exceeds the preset value, the discs slip, immediately interrupting the transmission of harmful forces to the tractor and the implement.
